HONORING LINDA'S MEMORY WITH LOVE & PURPOSE

Dear Friends,

In February of 2015 my wife Linda began having difficulty with her speech. We first attributed her symptoms to a recent dental procedure. During the next several months speaking became more challenging for her as other symptoms developed. In October of that year, we received the very difficult diagnosis of ALS.

By January of 2016, Linda required a feeding tube. It took many weeks before she was able to take in enough nutrition to maintain her strength. We were blessed that her health stabilized and she was able to enjoy walks with our dog Winthop throughout the spring & summer months.

Sadly by autumn the disease accelerated and Linda's mobility and independence were compromised. She lost her final battle to ALS in March of 2018.

The ALS Association was there for us during our entire journey. They provided us with specialized medical equipment, education and ongoing emotional support. We are forever grateful for the work they do helping those like Linda afflicted with this disease.

Linda asked me to continue to advocate for the ALS Association in her honor. There is still much work to be done to find treatment and ultimately a cure.

This crippling disease can strike anyone. Presently there is no known cause of the disease though support is bringing researchers closer to an answer. In the mean time it costs an average of $200,000 a year to provide the care ALS patients need. Help make a difference and donate or join a walk today.
