These are very trying times as the world is forced to deal with the Corona Virus pandemic.  Many of us are frightened and anxious, worrying about the horrible effects of the disease both medically and financially.  We are asked to remain in our homes, hunker down and do without almost all aspects of our every day life. It reminds of a moment in time just 3 years ago when Marty was diagnosed with ALS and what he did with his new normal.

When you are suffering from ALS you never know for how long you will be able to do the things, we all take for granted.  You know that eventually you will lose the ability walk, to move your hands to write or text or even shake hands.  You know that day after day it will become more difficult to speak, to ask for what you need, express what you are feeling or simply say I love you.  You know that as you spend your days watching TV, the commercials advertising the things we enjoy most in our lives become a stark reminder of the things that will never be. 

All throughout his battle with ALS Marty continued to SMILE.  If he could smile every single day while giving up so much so can we!  And the best part about sharing a smile is we can do it while practicing social distancing.
